This decorative barometer measures air pressure and is layered to show white, fluffy clouds in a blue sky.  Picturesque puffy white clouds with sunny skies typically mean that the air pressure is neither high nor low and that rain is probably not in the forecast.

Notice the two pointers on the face of the barometer.  One pointer displays the air pressure reading, the other "set" pointer can be rotated manually to mark the current barometric pressure.  If the first pointer moves to the right of the "set" pointer setting, the atmospheric pressure is rising and fair weather can be expected.  If the first pointer moves to the left of the "set" pointer setting, the atmospheric pressure is falling and stormy weather is indicated.
